Moonshot is a free daily word game. No ads, no tracking cookies, and we never sell player data. Here is exactly what it keeps, who helps run it, and how to delete it.
Your browser keeps your streak, past results, chosen sky, a random player ID, your pass code if you bought one, your sign-in if you logged in, and whether you passed the age check (not your birthday). It’s stored in your browser, not in tracking cookies.
When you finish a mission we save your answers, your score, the date and your random player ID. This powers the rarity tiers, your rank (“#3 of 41 pilots”) and the answer stats. Answers the game didn’t recognise, and answers you suggest, are saved without your ID so we can add real answers we missed.
Logging in is optional. If you sign in with Google or with an email and password, we store your email address, your pilot name, your crew codes, which devices you’ve signed in on, and your flight history, so your flights, streak and pass follow you. Passwords are stored securely hashed by Supabase; we never see them. With Google, our sign-in service receives your name, email and profile picture from Google; we only use your first name, as a suggested pilot name. We use your email only to sign you in and to send sign-up and password-reset emails. No newsletters or marketing.
Crews & duelsIf you join a crew or a 1v1 duel, your pilot name, your answers and your scores in that round are shown to the other pilots in it. Pick a nickname, not your full name.
Flight passThe optional $5 pass is a one-time payment (no subscription, nothing renews). Payment is handled by Stripe; Moonshot never sees your card number. We keep the email Stripe gives us for your receipt, your pass code, the amount, and the devices the pass is used on (up to two). Half of each pass is donated to Code.org.

Anyone can play the daily missions without giving any personal information. Accounts, crews, 1v1 duels and the flight pass are for players 13 and older, and we ask for a birthday before any of them. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
